I will be updating the species diary and breeding diary regularly along with new pictures being added to the species pages as they moult and grow into adulthood.

I am still fascinated by this insect and have been keeping them for over 5 years now. I have now been able to breed several species and rear mantids that I have bred myself. This hobby does take up quite a bit of time but so long as I enjoy it this doesn't bother me. 

I am going to start using the IGM number for each of the species that I keep, this method of identification is mostly employed by German hobbyists at the moment but I think it should be used by more people. I think it will save lots of confusion with common names and provides more detailed information about the origin of the species in the hobby
